
At the end of February, an element of the Finnair will disappearthat of retail accessories, cosmetics and gifts. What was seen as a plus - for a last-minute purchase, for example - will no longer be available from 28 February.
However, there are two exceptions: thePre-ordered items will still be delivered until 18 April. As for customers enrolled in the Finnair Plus programmethey can continue to buy rewards and products as well as home-delivered products on Finnair Shop as before.
Discounts from 1 February
"On-board and pre-order purchases have become a less essential service for our customers," says Valtteri Helve, Head of Product Offering at Finnair. " In spring 2020, we announced that we stop in-flight sales on our routes within the EU as part of our objective to reduce the overall weight of the aircraft. Now it's time to move on to the next stage. The sale of food and drink on flights will continueOf course, and we will continue to develop our service," she assures us.
To help sell off stocks of goods, the Finnish carrier has been offering the possibility of buying products on board or pre-ordering items with 40 discount %. In-flight purchases are available on all long-haul flights - with the exception of Qatar - as well as on routes to the Canary Islands, Egypt, Iceland, Israel, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK. Customers can also pre-order products for all flights lasting more than 2 hours.
