First glitch for Flight Search: Google rectifies the situation

Barely a few hours after the official launch of Flight search, Google's new price comparison service for airline tickets has come under fire for its clumsy lack of rigour. At issue: the presence of the World Trade Center among New York's airports. In fact, when listing the various landing structures available in the Big Apple, the old towers were inadvertently cited, because of a helicopter landing pad that was closed in 1984. An excusable oversight, of course, but an unfortunate one just a few days after the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Google was quick to react to the information, immediately fixing its mistake and promising to track down other incongruities. The gaffe revealed on Wednesday by the Sydney Morning Herald will at least have had the merit of encouraging Google to be more rigorous in its information.
