The major shipping companies go to great lengths to attract passengers. Their ships offer facilities and entertainment worthy of the best hotel clubs. The largest ship to date, the Harmony of the Seas, has the longest slide on the high seas and presents Broadway-style musicals every evening. The MSC Meraviglia, MSC Cruises' new ship to be launched in June, will have a 96-metre-long interior promenade on two levels, lined with shops, bars and restaurants. One of the great innovations of the MSC Meraviglia is the ceiling of this avenue, covered with a digital LED vault revealing different panoramas such as sunrises or a sky studded with stars. Passengers will find everything they need on board to relax and be entertained, with two shows specially created by the famous Cirque du Soleil company among the highlights.
For its part, Costa presents new itineraries every year. New for 2017: a romantic 14- or 16-night cruise along the Indian coast, from Mumbai to Mumbai via Cochin, Malé, Colombo and Goa. At the same time, the company is offering 'sea breaks', mini-cruises of three to five nights in the Mediterranean, which can be adapted according to demand. Another new development in 2017 is the Silver Galapagos, operated by the luxury cruise line Silversea, which takes around a hundred passengers on an exceptional expedition cruise to the Galapagos Islands. On the programme: inflatable boat trips, snorkelling and nature walks. All in a luxury setting!
