Hotels

Ilulissat (Greenland)

In summer, the Artic Hotel sets up igloos on the edge of the fjord.

Arctic Hotel

The best hotel in Ilulissat, overlooking the whole of Disko Bay. The 85 rooms, including 9 suites, are very comfortable, as are the public areas. In terms of decoration, there's no hyper-urban sophistication - it's not in the spirit of Greenland - but it's cosy and unambiguous. On the other hand, the welcome is extremely warm. Its restaurant, serving local specialities and international cuisine, is highly regarded. And so is its bar... For the summer, some very amusing brushed-iron igloos have been set up on the hillside. Eight fully equipped meeting rooms for up to 120 people.

Hotel Icefiord

No unnecessary fuss, no signature design for this recently renovated hotel. Just comfort and, above all, a breathtaking view of the bay and its inevitable icebergs from the balcony windows in all the rooms. The terrace of the bar, where you can also eat, enjoys the same view. Sublime. Practical detail: the hotel is located in the town centre, right in the heart of local life. 30 rooms, a restaurant and a meeting room for 80 people.

Reykjavik (Iceland)

Icelandair Reykjavik Marina

Right on the harbour, which is currently undergoing a complete overhaul, just a five-minute walk from the city centre and right next to the sublime Harpa conference centre. Wood, lots of wood, lava stone too, colour everywhere, cosy corners where you can sprawl out on furs, a central fireplace where a sculpture made of reclaimed wood warms up. The Marina, like its staff, is young and doesn't take itself too seriously. The fun-loving bar is very popular. 108 rooms and suites, bar, restaurant, 20-seat meeting room.

Lots of warmth at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica.

Hilton Reykjavik Nordica

Pink, green, blue... here, colour dominates, as if to counter the sometimes harsh climate. The designers have created wide breathing spaces, and the rooms are in the same spirit, i.e. very spacious, but in slightly calmer tones. Right in the heart of the financial centre. 252 rooms and suites, restaurant, fitness centre, executive lounge, 11 meeting rooms. 530 m2 ballroom.
