L'InterContinental Paris - Le Grand has just completed the third and last phase of its renovation. Led by interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, this renaissance has already seen the launch of new rooms and suites in recent years, conversion of meeting rooms as well as redesigned public spaces.
This time, its signature suites, located under the roofs, have been given a makeover, including the La Parisienne suite celebrating fashion and glamour with its wallpaper by Manuel Canovas, or the Charles Garnier Suite, with its refined design inspired by Swan Lake.
Alongside the hotel's historic suites such as the Sarah Bernhardt, Imperial and Presidential, this collection of signature suites includes two additions with the Opéra and Eugénie suites. These two new duplex suites have been designed as chic, contemporary Parisian flats, but retain an unclassifiable and timeless feature: exceptional views of the Opéra Garnier. Another new feature of the hotel is the creation of a Club InterContinental loungeon the first floor, where VIP guests can enjoy personalised service and exclusive privileges.
Café de la Paix reopens
But the end of this last phase of work is above all marked by the reopening of the famous Café de la PaixIts listed décor has been carefully restored and complemented by furniture that is in keeping with the times. Its large dining room has been divided in two, with the space facing the Boulevard des Capucines featuring darker woods and green velvet banquettes, while the space facing the Place de l'Opéra is lighter and more relaxed, with imitation straw fabrics on the walls and a rug inspired by nature.

Signature dishes include the Opéra salad with aubergine caviar and panko prawns, the sea bass with fennel and aniseed compote and, of course, the panko prawns, for dessert, the classic Opéra with its coffee cream and syrup.
