In an interview with American magazine Women's Wear Daily, the luxury brand Louis Vuitton has announced its intention to open a hotel under its own banner in Paris.

Michael Burke, CEO of the French luxury brand, told the publication about his plans to transforming the offices at Louis Vuitton headquarters - opposite the Samaritan - into a gigantic complex including the first Louis Vuitton hotel. The project will also include the brand's largest shop in the world.

This transformation is part of a large-scale renovation project for the block bounded by the Pont Neuf, rue de Rivoli and the Samaritaine shops.

Growing momentum in the hotel sector

Over the last two years, the district has undergone a radical transformation. It is now emerging as the heart of Parisian luxury. A renaissance driven by parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy. It has resulted not only in a transformation of the retail offer, but also in a remarkable breakthrough in the hotel sector. The inauguration of the refurbished La Samaritaine department stores' includes the Cheval Blanc hotel, an ultra-luxury establishment..

According to Michael Burke, the powerful CEO of LVMH, Bernard Arnault, has even bigger ambitions. The area around the Samaritaine will attract even more offices, shops, residences, cultural activities and a new hotel.. An ambition that should be realised over 10 to 15 years, Louis Vuitton's CEO confirmed to the American magazine.

The future Could Hôtel Louis Vuitton overshadow Cheval Blanc? ? Michael Burke rejects the idea that Cheval Blanc has been cannibalised. " [Hotel Louis Vuitton] will have its own identity, its own segment and its own service - a completely different experience" he told Women's Wear Daily. He added that he hoped to inaugurate the future luxury establishment within five years.
