Lufthansa City Airlines confirms its first destinations without launch dates

Lufthansa's new Munich-based subsidiary, Lufthansa City Airlines, has just listed its first destinations. Bordeaux is one of them. The exact opening dates will be announced later...

Its IATA code will be VL. The new Lufthansa subsidiary, announced for early 2023, Lufthansa City Airlineshas just released its first destinations. The regional airline, based in Munich, will initially serve German cities as well as three European destinations. Its initial fleet will include four Airbus A319s. These will gradually be replaced by Airbus A220- the Lufthansa group has placed an order for 40 aircraft + 20 options.

In the summer of 2024 - although there are no exact opening dates - Lufthansa City Airlines will be launching flights from Munich to Berlin, Bremen, Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Hanover.

In Europe, thehe first routes will be to Birmingham, Bordeaux and Manchester. Other routes - particularly in Europe - are expected to follow soon. Flight bookings will be integrated into the Lufthansa website from April..
