Mondrian Cannes opens in March

Mondrian, the lifestyle brand, is setting up shop in Cannes in March, bringing a new lease of life to one of the Croisette's oldest establishments, the Grand Hôtel.

Cannes, as well as soon seeing the reappearance of one of the jewels in its hotel crown - the Carlton - under the ultra-luxury Regent banner, owned by the IHG group, will have a sneak preview of the early days of the Mondrian brand. Waiting for its first customers on 10 MarchThe Mondrian Cannes will mark the arrival in France of this chic and contemporary chain ofEnnismorethe joint venture through which Accor is rolling out its lifestyle offer. A brand that matches the glamorous spirit of the destination as well as its history.

The Mondrian Cannes is located on the site of the city's first luxury hotel, the Grand Hôtel. Inaugurated in 1864, the establishment will launch this line of places prized by wealthy tourists and celebrities visiting the Croisette, the Majestic, Carlton, Gray d'Albion and Martinez. The building fell into disrepair and was demolished almost a century later, only to see the re-emergence of a modern establishment in the 1960s, still known as the Grand Hôtel. The Mondrian is now reinventing itself, under the guidance of the Franco-Brazilian architectural firm Triptyque, with artistic touches by photographer Mathilde de l'Écotais.

Overlooking the Croisette and with access to Rue d'Antibes and its fashion boutiques, its location is naturally prestigious. The Mondrian Cannes adds this seafront location to its charm. a green setting surrounding the hotel with over 4000 m2 of gardens. An oasis for cocktails and garden parties in the shade of hundred-year-old palm trees.

To accommodate participants, the Mondrian Cannes offers 75 beautifully appointed rooms and suitese with a surface area of 40 m2 for those overlooking the city and 36m2 The rooms overlooking the sea all have furnished terraces. The terrace of the panoramic room has a whirlpool bath, while the Signature suite has a spectacular terrace that connects the bedroom and lounge. This view over the bay of Cannes is accessible to all from the hotel's 150-seat terrace. The restaurant and bar, Mr. Nakamoto, as its name suggests, plays on Japanese influences, with sushi playing the starring role at aperitif time.
