At the high-profile presentation of its new products in London on Wednesday, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop had no hesitation in describing the new Lumia 800 as "the first true Windows Phone". The appearance of the icons will seem familiar to users of the platform developed by Microsoft - as will the services on offer (Word, Excel, Power Point) - but Nokia wanted to add its own touch, in particular via Nokia Drive. The Finnish manufacturer's navigation system should be one of the strong points of the new smartphones, focusing on the accuracy of information and ease of use, particularly when driving. Available in blue, pink and black, the Lumia 800 features a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, a 1.4 GHz processor, Carl Zeiss optics, an HD video player and 16GB of internal memory, complemented by 25GB of SkyDrive storage. It will be available in France from next month at €499 without subscription.
Presented as "functional" and "economical", the Lumia 710 model has a less polished finish, but is equipped with the same 1.4GHz processor, hardware acceleration and graphics processor as the Nokia Lumia 800. It does, however, have the same 1.4 GHz processor, hardware acceleration and graphics processor as the Nokia Lumia 800. We'll have to wait until early 2012 to see it make its first appearance on the French market, when it will be offered in black and white at a price of €329. The interchangeable back covers should bring a little colour to the new Windows Phone: blue, pink, yellow, black or white.
