The Paris CDG hub continues to see its hotels diversify. Recent developments include a new budget hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Paris - Aéroport Charles de Gaulle, which opened this week. This establishment, the company's largest in France with its 305 rooms "is the ideal place for an overnight stopover, located just a few metres from the terminal of one of the world's busiest airports."said Mike Greenup, IHG Group Vice President Marketing Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Connected by shuttle to terminal 1, this Holiday Inn Express is part of the brand's evolution. The "Next generation" concept, present in this establishment and launched in 2015 by the British group, is designed to meet the needs of today's business traveller. In other words, it offers functional workspaces and versatile, USB sockets next to the beds and smart TVs so that guests can stream their digital content from a personal terminal. All this without forgetting the basics such as king-size beds, power showers and, of course, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The Holiday Inn Express Paris - Aéroport Charles de Gaulle also offers the Express Café & Bar, where guests can enjoy a meal at any time of the day or night, and meeting rooms bathed in natural light.
While the airport's accommodation capacity stood at 1,700 rooms in 2010, it will rise to 3,700 rooms by 2019, i.e. capacity more than doubled in less than a decade. Hotels other than the Holiday Inn Express are already planned. Roissypole Ouest will welcome a business hotel in Q1 2019 Innside by Meliá with 267 rooms, as well as a Moxy, Marriott's 'millennials' brand. Original design, high-tech rooms, lively lobbies, low prices: this establishment brings travellers a new kind of experience as Citizen M, which opened in 2014, and Penta Hotels, which opened in 2016, have already done. "Against a backdrop of long-term growth in air traffic, the establishment of this Moxy hotel is part of the ongoing enhancement of the airport's accommodation offer and substantially improves the quality of the services provided to our passengers and customers in our business districts."explains Serge Grzybowski, Director of Real Estate for the ADP Group.
Customers and passengers will soon be offered an alternative form of accommodation that is not yet available in the airport area: long-stay hotels. The Hyatt group has just announced plans for a complex incorporating two of its brands: Hyatt House with its self-catering flats for medium and long stays and, in a more lifestyle style, Hyatt Place. In the same way as Moxy and Citizen M, this brand uses design and a relaxed atmosphere to appeal to a young-minded clientele. Developed by Kaufman & Broad, these hotels, due to open in the second half of 2020, will be located within the Paris Nord 2 international business park. 430 between them, they will share conference facilities, an all-day bar and restaurant, a gym and a large swimming pool.
