Radisson: 4 major business hotels certified Verified Net Zero

While Radisson aims to reach 100 Verified Net Zero properties by 2030, the group has just added four major MICE hotels to this program in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

After Norway, the focus turns to Sweden and Denmark. Is it a coincidence that the Radisson group’s ambition to reach 100 Verified Net Zero hotels by 2030 is first being realized in Northern Europe? The eco-friendly values of Scandinavian destinations are no longer in question; they regularly top the GDS Index every year, for example.

The playing field was therefore ripe for testing this concept of hotels committed to a zero-emission trajectory by 2050 and recognized by an independent certification issued by TÜV Rheinland. Covering all scopes 1 to 3 ranging from reducing energy consumption to the operational footprint, this program has already seen several hotels in Norway, starting with the Radisson RED Oslo City Centre in 2025 – in addition to the Radisson Manchester City Centre –, then the Radisson Blu Royal in Bergen and Trondheim as well as the Radisson Blu in Tromso this summer.

Continuing on the path of 100 establishments, the group moves from an initial pilot phase to implementation in larger and more complex meeting and event facilities. Radisson has just seen four new hotels certified in Stockholm and Copenhagen, all among the major MICE hotels in their destinations.

100% % renewable energy, reduced waste, low-carbon menus, responsible shopping: in Denmark, the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Copenhagen offers, for example, 14 meeting rooms with a capacity of more than 2,000 people, in addition to 544 newly renovated rooms. Also recently renovated, the Radisson Blu Waterfront in Stockholm, which borders the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, can draw on the 14,000 m² of modular space available in this venue to accommodate participants in large international congresses and events in its 414 rooms and suites.

Always next to the central train station of the Swedish capital, the Radisson Blu Royal Viking Stockholm also has 15 meeting rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 180 people. Finally, business travelers passing through Stockholm-Arlanda Airport will find another Verified Net Zero hotel nearby, the Radisson Blu Arlandia, which has 342 rooms and 24 meeting rooms and a capacity of more than 750 people.

" By extending the program to some of the most important meeting and event venues in the region, we help businesses, meeting organizers, and clients reduce the footprint of their travel and events, without compromising on quality, flexibility, or capacity. », commented Inge Huijbrechts, Chief Sustainability & Security Officer of Radisson Hotel Group. For his part, Federico J. González, CEO of Radisson Hotel Group, emphasizes that « This expansion in Scandinavia is another important step towards our 100 Verified Net Zero hotels by 2030 ».An extension of this program to other institutions, among others in the United Kingdom, but also in Germany or Austria, had previously been discussed.".
