Record growth for Nantes airport

More and more routes are being opened on theNantes Atlantique airportlike Lufthansa, British Airways or Brussels Airlines. In all, 17 new routes were opened in 2017, contributing to the dynamism of the Nantes hub. This effervescence is reflected in the airport's figures, which recently topped the 5 million passenger mark, compared with 4 million three years earlier. Growth at the Nantes hub reached 14% over the first ten months of 2017: an unprecedented result, which puts the hub in 7th position among regional airports.

2017 also saw the arrival of three new scheduled airlines, starting or restarting operations at Nantes Atlantique airport: British Airways to London Heathrow, Lufthansa to Munich and Chalair Aviation to Bordeaux, Pau and Caen. So there are no fewer than 25 scheduled airlines - 17 traditional and 8 low-cost - contributing to the appeal of Nantes as a destination, an appeal that extends beyond national borders, since 55% of traffic is international.
