After opening in Zurich in November 2021, Ruby Hotels has set up shop in Switzerland's other major business metropolis, Geneva. The German chain, which advocates lean luxury, is continuing its international expansion with a new establishment on the left bank of the Rhône, in the heart of the old town. Located above the Passage Malbuisson, this new establishment opened in mid-April and is the result of the merger of three buildings, built between 1900 and 1993 and previously used as offices.
In keeping with the Ruby Hotels concept, the Geneva hotel has taken on a feminine name, Claire, to set itself apart. " There are many five-star hotels in Geneva, but until now no real lifestyle hotelsaid Nicolas Sabatier, General Manager of the hotel. So I'm pleased that we're filling this niche with Ruby Claire, and see ourselves as a game changer." .
The brand's lifestyle spirit is reflected in Geneva with a design centred on world cultures, as an international destination, but also with a bar open 24/7 and two terraces on the roof of the hotel as an oasis of greenery. Easily accessible on foot from the train station - and a 15-minute drive from the airport - the Ruby Claire offers 211 rooms divided into five categories, ranging from the Nest and Cosy rooms (14 to 16 m²) to the Loft room (28 m²).
Alongside the opening in Geneva, the Ruby Hotels family will soon have a new representative in the Netherlands, at Amsterdamthe Ruby Emma. Doing its entry into the Dutch marketRuby Hotels is marking another first with this property, taking over an existing hotel, the QO, previously part of the IHG network. As part of the rebranding project, the public areas will be completely redesigned, with a particular focus on the following durable materials. A logical choice, given that the building housing the hotel was the first in Europe to be certified LEED Platinum, in 2018.
Just five minutes from the trendy De Pijp district, and ten minutes by metro from Central Station, the Ruby Emma is located in the heart of a sustainable environment, the new Amstelkwartier district. Please note that the establishment will open its doors in two phases. From next May 288 rooms and the 24/7 bar will be open to passengers, while the gastronomy section will be unveiled in September 2022.
