Singapore Airlines (SIA) has unveiled its new generation of long-haul cabins, representing an investment of more than 2 billion Singapore dollars (around 1.4 billion euros). The program covers the four travel classes – First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy – and aims to enhance the comfort, privacy and personalization of the on-board experience.
The deployment is planned to begin in the second half of 2027, on 41 refurbished Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft and A350-900ULR aircraft, as well as on the new Boeing 777-9 aircraft. These will receive all the new cabins, while the renovated A350s will be equipped with the new Business Class seats, among other things. The A350-900ULR will also feature a First Class cabin for the first time.
To better meet the needs of travelers, Singapore Airlines relied on a study conducted among more than 5,000 people, including industry experts. The identified expectations mainly focus on more privacy, better ergonomics, intuitive equipment, and spaces adaptable to the various activities during the flight.
A First Class thought of as a private space
The new First Class, designed for the Boeing 777-9 and A350-900ULR, adopts a 1-2-1 configuration. It will be equipped with sliding doors, leather seats and an electronic adjustment system that allows for the customization of seating and resting positions.
One of the main innovations concerns the center seats, which can be combined to form a two-seater sofa during the day or a double bed measuring 1.52 meters wide and 2.03 meters long. Passengers will also have access to a large table for sharing a meal or working in pairs.
Each suite will feature an 81 cm 4K touchscreen, a surround sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and wireless charging solutions. Lighting and seat positioning preferences can be remembered for future trips.
The Business Class gains in modularity
Available on the Boeing 777-9 and Airbus A350-900, the new Business Class features improved ergonomics and more flexible spaces. The seats transform into fully flat beds measuring two meters long. Some center seats can also be joined together to accommodate two passengers.
Sliding doors and partitions will allow you to modulate the level of privacy. The equipment includes 4K screens, spatial audio, Bluetooth connectivity, and the ability to charge your phone wirelessly.

Premium Economy and Economy not forgotten
On the Boeing 777-9, Premium Economy will offer a space of just over one meter between the rows, adjustable footrests and legrests, as well as 4K screens that can reach 40 cm.
The Economy Class will also benefit from new ergonomic seats with adjustable headrests, better legroom and redesigned tilt mechanisms. 4K screens, Bluetooth connectivity and USB-C ports will complete the equipment.

Improved gastronomic and entertainment offer
Singapore Airlines has also worked on improving its in-flight service. The KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system The new generation will thus offer a more immersive experience, notably with high-resolution 4K touchscreens, spatial sound and Bluetooth pairing with personal headphones. All this will integrate around 2,500 entertainment options as well as high-speed internet connectivity – which will mainly affect devices equipped with Starlink.
The food and beverage offering is also enriched with more than 100 new or revisited entrée, main course and dessert options in all cabin classes. Many dishes can also be ordered in advance.
Finally, the company has also invested several tens of millions of euros in the renovation and expansion of its SilverKris lounges worldwide, particularly those at Singapore Changi Airport.
