La 31 January strike will lead to major traffic disruption on the RATP. As is often the case, metro lines 1 and 14 will be the only ones spared, but they will be at risk of saturation. On line 1, Reuilly-Diderot, Bastille and Champs-Elysées Clémenceau stations will only be open during rush hour (7.30am-9.30pm and 4.30pm-7.30pm). Hôtel de Ville station will only be open from 7.30am to 9.30am.
Line 4 is expected to operate 1 train in 2 at peak times, compared with 1 train in 4 at off-peak times. Here too, station closures are to be expected. Simplon, Strasbourg Saint-Denis, Réaumur-Sébastopol, Cité, Montparnasse-Bienvenue, Raspail and Alésia will not be accessible throughout the day. Gare de l'Est station will only be open during rush hour (7.30am - 5.30pm).

In addition, one train in three is expected on lines 2 and 12 during rush hour, and one in four during the rest of the day.
The other metro lines will operate only partially, according to the following schedule, with the exception of line 3bis, which will be interrupted all day on 31 January:
Le RER A will run at the rate of 1 in 2 trains - and only 1 in 4 during off-peak hours - with the interconnection maintained at Nanterre Préfecture. Operations on the RER B will also be limited to 50% at peak times, and 1 in 3 trains at off-peak times. The interconnection will again be interrupted at Gare du Nord.
On the surface, RATP expects 8 out of 10 buses on average, as for tramway.
Urban transport will also be disrupted in the main French cities. Like in Marseille where metro line 1 will be suspended all day on 31 January, and Lyon where line B will also be interrupted.
Major disruption on the SNCF
La SNCF is also forecasting major disruption between 7pm on 30 January and 6am on 1 February. Starting with the networks INOUI TGV and OUIGO. On average, 1 train out of 3 is expected, with significant regional disparities:
- North TGV INOUI axis: 2 trains out of 5
- INOUI TGV East axis: 1 train in 2
- Atlantic axis TGV INOUI: 1 train in 4
- South East TGV INOUI: 1 train in 2
- OUIGO: 2 trains out of 5
- Province to province: 1 in 3 trains
SNCF is also forecasting severe disruption to regional (TER) traffic, with only 2 TER out of 10 on average.
With regard to travel withininternationalthe SNCF forecasts near-normal traffic levels for the networks Eurostar and Thalys. Operations on the Lyria network will be heavily affected, with other international routes operating at a quarter of their normal frequency.
