Sydney's future convention and exhibition centre will offer no less than 6,000 m² of meeting space, and some 40,000 m² of exhibition space in total: a record in Australia. Its construction is expected to result in the closure of the existing Darling Harbour Convention Centre, temporarily until 2016, or permanently depending on the decision of the New South Wales authorities. The project, estimated at one billion dollars, also includes the construction of a 300-room hotel.
