Digital innovation: that will be Brussels Airlines' good resolution for 2017. The airline has already put its new credo into practice with the launch of a mobile application. This new tool, available free of charge on the App Store and Google Play, enables business travellers and holidaymakers to book their tickets, from registerto use the mobile boarding pass then follow up on any changes about their flight. All in all, these are "classic" functions, but Brussels Airlines promises in its press release: " This first version of the application will soon be followed by new updatesand notifications will be added to inform passengers proactively ".

The application is part of a wider policy initiated by Brussels Airlines in the field of new technologies. " Brussels Airlines declares 2017 theyear of digital innovation "In fact, those in charge of the Belgian carrier claim that this is the case. The website will soon be redesigned, with a greater focus on the personalised service. Brussels Airlines is also working on a data pool" project designed to gather the latest information on flight operations to better inform both passengers and airline employees.

" With all the data we have, we can understand even better what our customers are really looking for and provide them with only what they really need.explains Sebastien Scarmure, Vice-President in charge of e-Commerce and Mobile at Brussels Airlines. He adds: "Nearly 35% of our sales are currently made on brusselsairlines.com, but also in terms of service, our digital platforms must be equipped to meet all our customers' needs, including all those who have booked their tickets via other sales channels. Our passengers needaccurate information on their flights and be able to change the details of their booking without having to use traditional communication channels. The application is therefore a first step in this direction, but over the next few years the new services will be introduced to offer an enriching experience at every stage of the journey ". To be continued.
