The SkyTeam alliance is expanding its range of business lounges with the expected opening by the end of the year of its eighth and ninth lounges in the world. These new additions come on the heels of last November's inauguration of a new lounge in Vancouver, and after North America, the alliance will be offering its first lounge on the subcontinent in Santiago, South America. Also to come is a lounge in Istanbul, as part of the transfer of SkyTeam members' operations to the new international hub, due to open in October. The future lounge will be twice the size of the current lounge at Istanbul Ataturk airport.
Now present in Beijing, Dubai, Hong Kong, London-Heathrow, Sydney, Vancouver and so on coming soon to Santiago and IstanbulSkyTeam's new lounges offer an enriched ground experience for First and Business Class customers as well as Elite passengers of SkyTeam member airlines. Features of the two new lounges include a focus on regional cuisine with Latin American stuffed turnovers in Santiago, mezzes in Istanbul, local beers and wines and plenty of natural light. In terms of facilities, every seat will be equipped with a power socket, and business travellers will be able to enjoy space to work before catching their flight, as well as showers to ensure a restful journey.
