After its parent company Lufthansa, Swiss is launching a new business class catering concept.
From 1 September and over the next six months, Swiss International Air Lines treat passengers on long-haul flights departing from Switzerland by offering them a selection of dishes prepared by Swiss chefs. These chefs have been working with the company since 2002 as part of the SWISS Taste of Switzerland. The dishes, traditionally accompanied by regional wines and cheeses, reflect the culinary diversity of all the Swiss cantons.
The company is back with its "Best of SWISS Tastewhich proposes the best of these culinary creations on a complete menu. Dishes with a Swiss flavour are offered on first and business class flights. For example, two dishes by Mike Wehrle of Bürgenstock Hotels & Resorts. Marinated lobster served with peccorino and cauliflower panna cotta for starters, followed by veal fillet with black truffle sauce for the main course.
The menu concludes with two desserts, including a blueberry cake with chocolate crumble and Appenzell beer ice cream, created by Silvia Manser of Restaurant Truube in Gais. PDO cheeses and award-winning Swiss wines complete the culinary offering.
There is also a SWISS Taste of Switzerland" vegetarian option as a starter. For example, a beetroot tabbouleh with pea guacamole from the Zurich restaurant Hiltl, served in business class.
Business Class à la carte service
Swiss is now offering a a new, more personalised service concept passengers to Business Class of all its long-haul flights. Customers will be able to tailor their flight even more precisely to their wishes. The classic catering service, where food is served dish by dish, remains the norm. But in parallel, there is now a Casual Dining" option. It offers a single service at the time requested by the passenger, with a meal consisting of a starter, main course and dessert.
On day flights, the airline offers its new SWISS Bistro. On the Bistro menu, customers can make their own choice from a selection of hot and cold dishes. This also includes snacks for young and old alike. These dishes are available at any time after the main service. Right up until landing.
