How do the Qatari authorities plan to receive incentive groups?

In any case, we are not focusing on mass tourism, preferring events. We already have hotels, but we want to step up our investment in entertainment and, above all, in culture. For example, the Museum of Islamic Art was opened a year ago. Very soon, we will be inaugurating a photography museum and another fine arts museum. We are mainly targeting Mice groups interested in sport and culture. We want to keep them. We don't want them to stay here for a day and then leave straight away. We sincerely want them to appreciate the culture of our country.

What are the main nationalities of these groups?

The English, the Germans and the French. In fact, as far as France is concerned, I would like to point out that our two countries have enjoyed strong relations for a very long time, both politically and culturally.

What is the average length of stay for an incentive group?

About three nights. It's easy to get to Qatar. Qatar Airways offers a total of six daily flights from the UK and two daily flights from France. And it only takes about six hours. What's more, there's nothing to stop these groups organising a combination with Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

How many foreigners do you receive each year?

Around 800,000, including 90 % business or Mice. And this year we're expecting an increase of 15 to 20 %. That's why we're putting a lot of energy into promotional operations, roadshows and meetings with decision-makers. We're sure that France will respond very favourably to our invitation. Aren't the French renowned for their love of culture?
