"We offer different, very contemporary angles" André Laget, Akilanga DMC & Events

André Laget is the Director of Akilanga DMC & Events.

South Africa is a vast country... Which spots do the groups choose?

André Laget - Johannesburg is not really a destination in itself. That's why we offer combined tours such as Johannesburg-Sun City, or Johannesburg and a game reserve, and so on. We try to offer different angles, something very urban, very contemporary, like the privatisation of rehabilitated sites, old factories for example. But we don't forget the must-sees, like the apartheid museum or a guided tour of Soweto. And then, of course, there's Cape Town, with all its glamour and history. Always a big hit.

As far as Cape Town is concerned, what is the typical programme?

A. L. - It's the biggest playground there is. There's culture, history, nature, the sea, the mountains... There's also the Cape of Good Hope, penguins, seals... We offer interactive activities. For example, on the wine route, which is travelled in vintage cars, we get participants to look for cheeses, olive oil and so on. Then they get in the kitchen and cook with an African chef.

How many groups did you welcome last year?

A. L. - A dozen groups, a short year. The good ones, we do around thirty. On the other hand, 2013 doesn't look too bad.

What is the average length of an incentive trip?

A. L. - In general, it's five days. And with no time difference. Which is a real advantage.
