What advantages does Malaysia have to offer incentive groups?

Abdul Rahim Haron - There are lots of them! Malaysia is a multi-cultural country with a very different atmosphere and landscape. Its infrastructure is modern. Everyone speaks English, there's no need for a visa, no special vaccinations... A change of scenery is guaranteed in a totally safe climate.

Still, it's a long way off...

A. R. H. - Yes, but there are direct daily flights from Paris, with carefully planned timetables. Malaysia Airlines operates a daily A380 flight.
Air France has just relaunched its service to Kuala Lumpur with three weekly frequencies. Singapore Airlines is also very successful on this route.

What are your tips for making the most of your discovery of Malaysia?

A. R. H. - The country isn't very big, and you can plan a short trip, with just four nights in the country, for a holiday that will leave lasting memories for participants. The ideal is to spend two nights in Kuala Lumpur and two elsewhere. For a trip with a strong cultural flavour, opt for Penang or Malacca, historic cities listed by UNESCO. For dream beaches, choose Langkawi or one of the islands on the east coast. And to discover an extraordinary natural environment where a unique culture has blossomed, go to Borneo. Of course, a longer stay allows you to combine several experiences. For example, the trio of Kuala Lumpur - Penang - Langkawi is very fashionable. Domestic flights are punctual, connecting times are optimised and, on the ground, the hotels are of a high standard, with openings and renovations going well.

What do you think is the experience not to be missed?

A. R. H. - Malaysian gastronomy is unique, with a fine blend of several Asian cuisines. In Kuala Lumpur, as in Malacca and Penang, you shouldn't miss out on the street food, which is truly fantastic. Travellers who know Malaysia well will know that this is perhaps the best place to eat. You can stay in a luxury hotel in the Golden Triangle and have dinner in a popular restaurant where you can feast on "satay".
