A business forum, but also a seminar devoted to the main issues of concern to investors in Russia, Rencontres Russie will be held on 19 and 20 November 2007 in Paris. The Business Forum, organised by Ubifrance and the Moscow Economic Mission in collaboration with Club France and the Russia section of the French Foreign Trade Advisors, is expected to bring together, according to Ubifrance, "some forty private service providers and ten or so institutions with experience in the field and a permanent presence in Russia".
These meetings symbolise the efforts being made by the authorities responsible for foreign trade in Russia, one of the five pilot countries (along with China, India, Japan and the United States) in the Cap Export operation, which aims to strengthen France's presence in the most buoyant markets.
In 2006, this multi-faceted action resulted in around twenty information days organised in France, fifteen seminars, symposia and business meetings organised in Russia, four multi-sectoral missions to the regions, fifteen French pavilions at Russian trade fairs and a large number of collective missions organised in partnership with chambers of commerce and industry.
