Keen to rationalise the group's travel expenditure of just over €10 million around an online travel purchasing solution or SBT (self booking tool), Deloitte launched a call for tenders by asking the various agencies, including Carlson Wagonlit, to study their online solutions. When it came to selecting the solution, remote assistance to guide you through the booking process, via a hotline or chat, proved to be an essential criterion," says Dominique Delattre, head of purchasing. It was a condition for achieving a high adoption rate: 60 % from day one and 86 % on average in the first year." Deloitte decided to implement the KDS solution in partnership with CWT. From the outset, CWT managed the project as prime contractor. Deloitte retained control of the configuration and managed the implementation of data transfers with KDS.
To get employees on board with this online booking project, Deloitte began communicating three months before the launch. The campaign was complemented by a mobilisation of assistants and employees, workshops and a presentation meeting. Two years later, 86 % of travellers are using SBT to book their trips. Thanks to this online booking tool, the average ticket price has been reduced by up to 28 % for international air travel and, to a lesser extent, for rail and hotel travel," continues Dominique Delattre. As for agency fees, they were reduced by more than 50 % at the end of the first year.
