Lyon airport is definitely on a roll. Following in the footsteps of easyJet, which has just unveiled four new routes departing from the Lyon hub, Air Canada strikes a blow by announcing the launch of a flight to Montreal. This new route, scheduled to open on 17 June 2016This service will be available all year round. "Continuing its international expansion strategy, Air Canada is delighted to be the only airline to offer its customers non-stop, year-round service between Lyon and Montreal," says Benjamin Smith, Air Canada's President - Passenger Carriers. "Air Canada continues to serve Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, and this new mainline route will make it even easier for French passengers to travel to North America. It also complements the service between Nice and Montreal operated by Air Canada rouge".
The Air Canada aircraft - an Airbus A330-300with 37 seats in International Business Class and 228 seats in the main cabin - will operate up to 5 flights a week. It will leave Lyon at 12 noon each day. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sundayand will arrive in Montreal at 2pm. On the return journey, flight AC828 departs at 9.10pm, arriving in Lyon at 10.20am the following morning. And more, connections will be optimised from the Montreal hub to various North American business destinations, including Toronto, Quebec City, Vancouver, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston.
