
Total capacity of entities Air France and KLM are now down by 90%. A measure scheduled to last two months with the possibility for the group to readjust its capacity according to the evolution of the context. During this period, one of the key measures was the grounding of the entire Airbus 380 fleet for Air France and the entire Boeing 747 fleet for KLM. Transavia and Hop ceased operations.
Flight schedule
To enable French nationals to return to France, Air France has added flights to Paris-CDG. On Tuesday 24 March, new departures were scheduled from Santiago de Chile, Dubai, Dakar, Bogota and Abidjan. The airline expects to be able to welcome back to France 20,000 passengers a day.
Air France changes its flight schedule from week to week. As of 19 March, the airline was offering the following flights, with a few adjustments since then, as other bans or restrictions on air movements (such as in Brazil or Canada) have added further changes to the flight schedule.
On the FranceMost domestic routes have been suspended, with the exception of a few flights to major regional cities, mainly to make connections.
In the French overseas departments, contrary to last week's announcement of a total suspension of services between Paris and Cayenne, Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre and Saint Denis de la Réunion, flights are guaranteed until 29 March. The airline offers a daily flight to the French West Indies and Réunion and four to five weekly flights to French Guiana.
On theEuropeAir France still serves Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, BerlinDublin, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, GenevaLisbon, London Heathrow, MadridMunich, Stockholm and Zurich. To these cities, the airline offers daily frequencies, except to Amsterdam where there is a real air bridge with eight flights a day, enabling passengers to be transferred to connecting flights.
At theintercontinentalthe routes still on offer this week are Conakry/Abidjan and Cotonou/Lagos in Africa; Los Angeles, Mexico (flight code-shared with an Aeromexico aircraft), Montréal and New York in North America and Tokyo-Narita in Asia. The carrier offers several weekly frequencies. To South America, there is only one flight on Sao Paulo but via Amsterdam with KLM.
In application of the measures put in place by the French government, all Air France agencies in Paris and the regions, both in cities and airports, are closed, with the exception of the agency at Terminal 2E of Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and the agency at Paris-Orly.
