Air France-KLM is expanding the content of its Flying Blue frequent flyer programme. Since 6 July, Ivory members, i.e. the first level of the programme, have benefited from new advantages. Starting with reductions of up to €10 on the first paid baggage, with the exception of flights to/from the United States, Canada and Mexico.

At the same time, Air France-KLM is also offering 10% discount on seat options on board short-, medium- and long-haul flights. For example, a Plus seat - i.e. one located at or near the emergency exits - is available on long-haul routes at a price of 50 or 70 euros per seat and per flight, depending on whether or not the flight lasts more than 9 hours. While Ivory cardholders now enjoy discounts on these options, Flying Blue Platinum members continue to enjoy them free of charge, while Silver and Gold members benefit from discounts of 50 % and 25 % respectively.

This new offer is a further step in the evolution of Flying Blue: simplifying our Miles accumulation rules, personalising our offers and optimising benefits on all Air France, KLM and HOP! flights," said Frédéric Kahane, Director of Air France-KLM's Flying Blue frequent flyer programme. We intend to enhance the value of each of our Ivory, Silver, Gold and Platinum members and make Flying Blue the consumer's preferred loyalty programme among European airlines."

With 27 million members, Flying Blue is one of the most powerful programmes in Europe. In 2016, for the 4th year running, it was voted "programme of the year" for the Europe/Africa region at the Freddie Awards ceremony, a benchmark in the field.
