AirPlus is taking its sustainable commitments one step further. Back in 2009, the corporate payments specialist was already one of the pioneers among financial services players with a a totally CO2-neutral payment solutionGreen Company Accounts". This carbon-neutral product, initially available as an option, has gradually become standard in several markets. And now, this will be the case throughout the worldAirPlus customers are automatically offered a zero-carbon product.

Although its business does not have the same impact on the environment as airlines or car rental companies, AirPlus has taken several initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint, starting with its paper consumption. " When it comes to the question of how travel can become more sustainable, the public generally focuses on the journey itself (...) But companies can also make their contribution to climate protection in terms of payment and invoicing." said Oliver Wagner, CEO of AirPlus International.

As a result, requests are processed right through to invoicing, the entire chain is paperless with AirPlus. That's 16 million sheets of paper saved every year. In addition, all the CO2 emissions generated by AirPlus for Company Accounts - electricity, water, gas, etc. - were offset last year. in partnership with the NGO myclimate. That's the equivalent of 380.4 tonnes of CO2, which enabled 1,600 trees to be planted.

While AirPlus intends to maintain this approach in the future, the corporate payments specialist has announced that other payment solutions will gradually be made CO2-neutral. In addition, the Lufthansa Group subsidiary is also highlighting another of its sustainable solutions, the Green Reportsa CO2 emissions reporting system offered as an option to its customers, enabling them to assess in detail the emissions generated by business air travel.
