A few weeks after signing a new agreement with the SNCF, Amadeus is continuing its conquest of the railways on the other side of the Alps. On Tuesday 26 June, the GDS announced the signing of an agreement giving Trenitalia access to the Amadeus global network, with its 91,000 points of sale. "Travel consultants around the world will be able to book tickets for both Trenitalia Frecce Alta Velocità high-speed trains (i.e. Frecciarossa and Frecciargento) and Frecciabianca through existing sales channels and via Amadeus' global distribution system", says the GDS in a press release, which also warns: "Trenitalia's remaining medium- and long-distance lines will soon follow".
