Berlin airport brought to a standstill by strike

A new strike in German skies will completely block traffic at Berlin Brandenburg Airport on March 18th.

The social climate in Germany is decidedly tense. A few days after the strike that forced Lufthansa has cancelled half of its flights, it's the airport Berlin Who will bear the brunt. Following the strike called by the ver.di trade union, the management of Brandenburg Airport had to cancel all of its operations for the day of March 18th. According to initial estimates, the action will thus lead to the cancellation of over 400 flights. And some 57,000 travellers will be impacted...

In the event of a Lufthansa flight cancellation, the airline offers passengers the option to convert their flight ticket to a Deutsche Bahn ticket for free on certain routes. This service applies to domestic German flights as well as flights between Germany and the following destinations: Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg, Paris, Basel, Geneva, Zurich, Salzburg, Vienna, Innsbruck, Linz, Graz, Budapest, Prague, and Warsaw.
