National strike: Brussels Airlines cancels all flights on 13 February

Company officials explained: " On the basis of additional information received recently concerning the likely scale of the national strike on 13 February, Brussels Airlines currently considers that operations at Brussels airport are likely to be severely affected following industrial action by various airport stakeholders" .

Initially, Brussels Airlines opted for partial cancellations, before adopting a more general approach on Friday. Brussels Airlines has decided to discontinue 72 flights that were originally scheduled for that same day, and thus cancels its entire programme of 222 flights" it says. The company says it is opting for a proactive suppressionto allow travellers to change their flight schedule and "". to minimise as far as possible the level of disruption and discomfort caused by the national strike" . All in all, 16,000 passengers would be affected.
