L'Business Travel Observatory summer 2021 version is now available. And this third 'wave' of the survey has the merit of sending out a few positive signals to a business travel market that really needs it. Based on a sample of 500 business travellersinterviewed from 27 May to 8 June last, OpinionWay and Corporate Mobilities conducted this survey for AXA Partners, Les Entreprises du Voyage and the Accor Group.
Based on the observation that business travel is " a market that is gradually picking up again in the domestic segmentin Europe and, to a lesser extent, internationally "The study's authors emphasise that this recovery is taking place in a number of countries. good conditions. According to the Observatory, more than eight out of ten business travellers report a "good" travel experience. in compliance with health regulations "This includes both accommodation and the various modes of transport used.
70% of travellers expect their company to accept higher travel costs
These conditions are all the more favourable as companies have - temporarily at least - eased up on costs, to ensure that their travellers travel in good conditions, and as serenely as possible... Non-stop flights, booking comfort classes and higher categories of hotels or vehicles: the demands of business travellers have evolved in the face of the health context, and they intend to maintain - at least for a while - these "good" habits. On the whole, this new social contract seems to be accepted by the employer, insofar as " 70% of travellers anticipate a acceptance by their company of rising travel costs linked to the health context "according to the report.
What's more, business travellers report a " strong involvement of companies in their employees' vaccination policy ". In 80% of cases, this involvement translates into employer intervention - or at least a facilitating role - in the vaccination of business travellers. More than seven out of ten nomadic professionals are in favour of vaccination, as is the vaccination passport.
These prerequisites seem to be all the more accepted as the need for mobility is increasingly felt by employees. The Observatoire des Déplacements Professionnels (Business Travel Observatory) has highlighted a growing attachment to face-to-face meetings, in comparison with the previous survey carried out last September. Today, three quarters of business travellers (76%) believe that travel is important to the success of their mission.
However, as the second wave of the survey already revealed, the virtual has now become commonplace: " the use of videoconferencing seems to be firmly established in working practices in particular for internal meetings "The authors of the report note that a new wave of surveys is planned for the end of 2021.
