The digital strategy of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes is taking a new turn at the start of the 2021 academic year. Having officially joined the international Hybrid City Alliance network, the famous conference centre is now equipped with an infrastructure that embodies these new ambitions in concrete terms. The Hi5 studio was unveiled on 3 September, offering local managers a new asset for hosting hybrid or even entirely digital events, in partnership with the specialist Laval Virtual.
This permanent studio and turnkey has been installed on the 5th floor of the building - hence the name Hi5 - in place of the Esterel room, and has a capacity of 350 people. It has a 120 m² set, four cameras and a 10 x 3 m LED screen, curved at 2.5 pixels per mm, in 4K definition. In addition to the local technical teams in charge of sound and lighting, the Palais des Festivals has turned to Novelty for visual production and Via Pass for broadcasting, including live broadcasts. As for streaming, the site's managers are offering event organisers two options: use their own streaming platform, or adopt the OXP tool from PublicisLive and Orange.

" We are proud of this new achievement, a space equipped with the most cutting-edge technology to help our customers make their events a success, and increase the audience for their events. "Jean-Michel Arnaud, President of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes, is delighted. David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes, added: " The years 2020 and 2021 have been marked by the global health crisis, which has had a profound and lasting impact on the events sector. Cannes, an excellent business destination, has recognised expertise in hosting professional events and has mobilised to launch new initiatives. Hybrid events have become an integral part of the comeback of trade fairs and conferences with a physical presence. Today, with the HI 5 studio, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès is equipped with a high-performance tool to help its customers renew the formats of their international events. ".
A new medical concierge service for conference delegates
Alongside the inauguration of the Hi5 studio, the management of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes also presented another innovation designed to reassure event organisers about the health situation. In addition to the various certificationsin particular GBAC for the North American market, Cannes officials have decided to launch an offer of medical concierge service. This unique, free service, launched thanks to the French platform Concilio, draws on a network of 25,000 doctors. Visitors to the Palais des Festivals can register on the digital platform, enabling them to be contacted by a doctor for a teleconsultation if they need one, and to be given a prescription if necessary. " All the major organisers are interested, and will be developing this service over the coming weeks." explains Régis Faure, Director of Tourism and the Convention Bureau. |
