Hilton: a new wave of openings expected in 2023

The Hilton group has unveiled its list of major openings for 2023, with plans for new hotels in Bordeaux and Dijon, as well as London, Rabat and New York.

Hilton has not waited until the beginning of next year to present its list of most eagerly awaited openings in 2023. And of the twenty or so hotels selected to represent the American group's best projects, two are in French towns linked by a rich wine-growing and historical heritage, Bordeaux and Dijon.

While the Burgundy metropolis saw the opening this year of the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin Hilton International's new hotel is part of this major tourism project. Expected to open in summer 2023 just a stone's throw from the medieval city centre, the Hôtel Sainte-Anne Dijon will be housed in a former 17th-century hospital that has been converted into a luxury hotel with 125 rooms and suites. A new member of the Curio Collection by HiltonThe hotel will feature outdoor terraces, a swimming pool and, of course, a bar and gourmet restaurant where you can enjoy the region's prestigious wines.

In Bordeaux, another of Hilton's brands, the Tapestry Collection, is preparing to set up shop next spring, welcoming to its ranks le Marty Hotel Bordeaux. This 61-room establishment with an arty feel will open its doors in the heart of the business district of de Meriadecka fast-evolving business.

Other openings are expected in the Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) region, a number of business destinations will see new developments of the American group. Its mid-range brand, Hampton by Hilton, will continue to expand in Europe, with a new address expected to open at London next summer, succeeding the one located near Waterloo station. As for the future Hampton by Hilton London Old Street, it will be located in the trendy Shoreditch district and close to the company headquarters on Liverpool Street, with a 107-room hotel aimed at both leisure and business customers, including a conference room. Also in summer 2023, the Hampton brand will appear in the heart of BudapestThe 219-room hotel is located close to the Opera House and St Peter's Basilica.

As for Hilton, this spring it will be offering a business hotel in Heidelberg, in the heart of the historic city. Set on the banks of the Neckar, the river that runs through this great university town, the establishment will be designed to accommodate major corporate events, with not only 244 rooms, but also a conference centre with seven meeting rooms and a function room for up to 300 people.

Like many hotel groups, Hilton is also looking at Africa for its expansion. In addition to a member of the Curio Collection in Kenya, the Kwetu Nairobi located near the business district of the Kenyan capital, the American hotelier will be adding a fifth Hilton hotel in Cairo next spring. Located in the chic Maadi district, the hotel on the Corniche du Nil will feature 255 rooms and suites, a number of restaurants and a rooftop bar, an outdoor swimming pool and a top-of-the-range MICE area.

As far as North Africa is concerned, the end of 2023 will see the first establishment of the Conrad luxury brand in Rabat. Located on the seafront in Harhoura, an upmarket district of the Moroccan capital, the hotel will offer 120 rooms and suites, including Morocco's largest royal suiteof 623 m2. In addition to top-of-the-range leisure facilities, the Conrad Rabat Arzana is also designed for business travellers, with a MICE area of more than 1000 m2 with a large reception room, four meeting rooms and an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean. At the same time, the Conrad brand will also be pursuing its expansion in Asia with a new hotel in China, located in the heart of Shenzhen's business district. Designed by the renowned firm Yabu Pushelberg, this contemporary hotel will offer 300 rooms and suites and over 1,500 m² of meeting space.

The Hilton Group has not forgotten its original birthplace, the United Stateswith two flagship openings in the coming months. In spring, its new MottoThe hotel, which combines lifestyle at a light price with lively communal spaces and innovative accommodation solutions, will be making a grand entrance into the heart of New York, in the Times Square district of Manhattan, with a 400-room establishment inspired by the New York of the 1920s.

In Orlando, Florida, a Conrad hotel will open in autumn 2023 at the Evermore Orlando Resort, next to Walt Disney World. This leisure-oriented luxury hotel will feature two golf courses and a tropical beach bordering a crystal-clear lagoon. But the hotel is also ready to host major corporate meetings with its 433 rooms and 51 suites and, above all, over 6,000 m of MICE space2 with a large ballroom and 17 meeting rooms.

The Hilton group will also be able to count on several new resorts around the worldThese include the Hilton Skanes Monastir Beach Resort in Tunisia. The Curio Collection will also be joined by new members dominated by leisure, such as the Bo Vue Hotel in Bodrum, Turkey and the Legacy Hotel in Cascais, Portugal, as well as the La Festa Hotel in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As for the luxury brand LXR, it will be making its appearance in South-East Asia with an intimate resort of 72 villas in Indonesia, the Jumana Bali Ungasan.
