HRS makes business hotel reservations even more mobile

Business travellers are increasingly using their mobile devices to book their hotel rooms during business trips. HRS Corporate doubled the number of bookings made via smartphones and tablets in 2013 to 12% of transactions.

Mobile booking continues its inexorable rise in the world of business travel. This is borne out by the figures for 2013 published on Monday by HRS Corporate. The global specialist in online hotel reservations for companies saw the number of mobile bookings double last year (12%). Tobias Ragge, CEO of HRS, confirms: "Over the next few years, travellers will be booking even more hotel rooms via smartphones, and mobile devices will dominate the market. We expect 50 % in mobile bookings within the next three years", warns Tobias Ragge. Another finding of the 2013 report is that "75 % of bookings made on HRS via mobile are for same-day or next-day arrival, and generally for overnight stays", emphasises the HRS report.
