
11 December, Iberia has launched its first direct flights to Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. Flights are operated in Airbus A330-200, with a capacity of 288 passengers in business and Eco class.
With the Iberia flight, IAG considerably strengthens its cooperation with Qatar Airways. With Madrid, London and Doha, the two strategic partners IAG and Qatar AirwaysThese new services offer improved connectivity between Spain and Europe to more than 200 destinations in Asia, Australasia, the Middle East and Africa. This includes fast and efficient transfers to their respective hubs.
55 million economic impact for Madrid
Iberia's new route will take passengers beyond Doha to 49 new connections to Asia, 17 to Africa, 18 to the Middle East and 6 to Oceania. It is expected to generate an estimated economic impact of €55 million for the Madrid region alone in its first year.
