Le Japan clearly intends to take on a new dimension on the international tourism scene, particularly in the MICE. The project validated on 14 April by the Japanese authorities will give the destination a new master asset. It includes a vast complex of almost 500,000 m², due to open on 2029, à Osaka. A hotel, conference centre, exhibition hall and theatre are expected to be built.

The famous MGM group will be at the helm of the project, alongside Japan's Orix.
The CEO of MGM Resorts, Bill Hornbuckle, said: " We couldn't be more excited to begin development of one of Japan's first integrated resorts in the great city of Osaka, and we look forward to working with our partner Orix and the Prefecture and City of Osaka to realise this long-held goal." .
The recent lifting of Japan's legislative ban on casinos should quickly pave the way for other projects of this type, as the authorities aim to develop the destination's tourist aura.
