With 289 cabins, including 28 singles and 42 deluxe suites, the Jules Verne - ex-Astor launched in 1987 - will be the first cruise ship of the new company Croisières Maritimes & Voyages (CMV). A subsidiary of the British group Cruise & Maritime VoyagesIt will be unique in that it will only offer cruises dedicated to French-speaking markets. The inaugural 2021/2022 season will include 20 cruises in Northern Europe departing from Le Havre, as well as in the Mediterranean and Black Sea from Marseille, and a 123-night round-the-world voyage from Marseille to Le Havre, from 8 January to 11 May 2022. Between now and then, CMV will be setting up offices in Marseilles in January 2020 to develop its commercial services. A website to present the company and its range of cruises and an 80-page brochure will also be produced. "Our ambition is to bring a premium touch to the French cruise market with a vintage modernist style, demanding service and refined gastronomy."says Clément Mousset, Managing Director of CMV, which hopes to take on 10,000 customers in its first year of operation.
