Louvre Hotels passes the 500 mark in China

Since the opening of the first Campanile in China in 2016, Louvre Hotels is now approaching the milestone of 500 hotels in the country, thanks in part to the support of Jin Jiang International, its owner.

Despite the fact that the country is virtually closed to foreign travellers, China obviously remains a priority for the development of all the world's leading hotel companies. The British group IHG, for example, has just welcomed the opening of its 600th hotel, the Kimpton Bamboo Grove in Suzhou. But having the support of a leading player in the market The Radisson and Louvre Hotels groups, both subsidiaries of the world's second-largest hotel group, are taking full advantage of this.

While Radisson intends to expand its range of 400% by 2025 in Asia, including the Middle Kingdom, Louvre Hotels announces the completion of its 500th project in China with the Campanile Shanghai Lingang. Expected to open in February 2023, this 212-room hotel will be the new flagship of a budget brand that made its debut in the country in 2016, again in Shanghai, in the heart of the Bund.

This first materialisation of the synergies between Jin Jiang and its European subsidiary has been followed by several others. Since then, Louvre Hotels brands set out to conquer key Chinese cities with the inauguration of the Golden Tulip Rainbow Shanghai in 2017 and the Smart Hotel Campanile Jing'An Shanghai in 2018. More recently, the Kyriad brand has set up in the heart of the Shenzhen exhibition centre, with the Kyriad Marvelous Hotel Shenzhen Bao'an International Convention and Exhibition Center. This mid-range brand is proving successful in the Chinese market, where Louvre Hotels now has almost 190 Kyriads, compared with 63 Campaniles and 11 Golden Tulips.

To go even further, and as part of a three-year development plan for the region, Louvre Hotels intends to move beyond China's main cities to conquer secondary markets such as Chongqing, Chengdu and Guiyang. " By 2025, we expect the signature of more than 1,000 hotels under the Kyriad, Campanile and Golden Tulip brands. Our Tulip Lodj brand also made a remarkable entry into the residential hotel market this year in China. "says Max Cergneux, Managing Director of Development at Louvre Hotels.
