To enter these new markets, the design concept has been adapted with a Scandinavian-style aesthetic in EuropeIn the Middle East, the establishments will feature elements that are essential in the region, such as prayer rooms and Qibla signs. The first cities to discover Fairfield by Marriott's offer will be Amsterdam and Copenhagen with two openings planned for the third quarter of 2023. In Amsterdam, Marriott has found a prime location for travellers, proximity to Schiphol airportwith a 175-room hotel. In the Danish capital, the hotel is part of the sustainable revitalisation of the former industrial district of Nordhavn, not far from the city centre. All in a dual-brand complex with a 234-room Fairfield associated with an 81-key establishment of the long-stay Residence Inn brand.
In 2024, the brand is due to make its Swiss debut in the spring, in Zug, but also and above all in Bordeaux at the end of the year. As in Amsterdam, the 191-room establishment will be ideally located for business travellers, just a stone's throw from Bordeaux-Saint-Jean station.
As far as the Middle East is concerned, two mega hotels are planned in Mecca in Saudi Arabia, the 2,600-room Fairfield by Marriott Makkah Al Naseem and the 1,376-room Fairfield by Marriott Makkah Ibrahim Al Khalil Road.
