A total of 4.9 million passengers travelled on the Eurostar network in the first six months of 2013: a slight increase compared with the same period in 2012 (+2%), accompanied by a more significant increase in sales (+7% to 524.3 million euros). Corporate customers are no strangers to these good results: "Business travel showed a strong upward trend in the second half of the first quarter of 2013" points out the press release, which reports 3% growth in the business travel segment. "We have posted solid business results for the first six months of the year, during which we offered new routes and additional trains between Paris and London," points out Nicolas Petrovic. Eurostar's Managing Director added: "We have also seen an increase in our sales. Travelling by Eurostar continues to be a sought-after and unmissable experience for international and European travellers. We have seen an increase in bookings from outside Europe, and our new London-Lyon-Provence test service has been a great success, with many trains fully booked.
