Modjo: Nextdoor combines coworking and catering

Nextdoor is revisiting the coworking concept in Lyon. The project, called Modjo, brings together work spaces and restaurants in the same building.

Spurred on by the "start-up" spirit, the coworking spaces are proliferating in France, offering a wide range of formats. Many of them focus on the aesthetics of the offices, or their comfort. Others offer the chance to meet new people and take part in the very popular "after-works". Nextdoorthe fruit of an alliance between AccorHotels and Bouyguesis entirely dedicated to this new format. The subsidiary has announced the launch on 13 March of a new concept called Modjo, based in the Part-Dieu station area of Lyon.

From brunch to after-work

This space is open 7 days a week and has modern facilities that are much appreciated by connected nomads. But the attraction of the establishment also and above all lies in the catering area set up close to the offices. " This new concept of community restaurant is a natural evolution in our customers' expectations, in line with the revolution in the way they work. "says Philippe Morel, Chairman of Nextdoor. This new format will make it possible to organise a wide variety of events at Modjo, ranging from creative brunch at business lunch. " The team, which includes a chef, a barman and a creative barista, will be doing everything in their power to surprise and delight. Work&Food experience a unique and enriching experience for visitors "says Philippe Morel.

Big ambitions for industrial partners

The restaurant area will be open to the general public, while the coworking space will remain open to the public. reserved for Nextdoor residents. To become part of this community, the company offers different subscription formats. The range of offers starts with a one-day pass at 25 euros excluding VAT, with other packages offering more stable facilities such as private offices or nomad workstations. Meeting rooms are also available on an hourly basis. AccorHotels and Bouygues Immobilier have no intention of stopping in Lyon: with Nextdoor, the two partners are already aiming for 80 of these spaces by 2022.
