SAS Scandinavian Airlines is gradually restoring its network to pre-pandemic levels. The airline has decided to increase the number of flights it operates by easing travel health protocols and thus resuming traffic.
SAS has just revealed what its network will look like from this autumn. The airline will be operating more than 160 direct routes to 90 destinations from October onwards. In detail, this programme will include 57 destinations from Copenhagenits main hub. But also 52 destinations from Stockholm-Arlanda and 47 destinations from Oslo. SAS also connects a handful of domestic and international destinations from Bergen, Göteborg, Stavanger and Trondheim.
Paris, Brussels, Geneva and Nice in French-speaking Europe
Among the new services, the takeover of the domestic route between Stockholm-Arlanda and Sundsvall in September will enable the Scandinavian SAS carrier to complete its Swedish network. SAS now serves all airports in Sweden and Norway.
What's more, the carrier resumes its European flights to Amsterdam, Krakow, Dublin, Florence and Prague. SAS will also be increasing its connections to major European capitals. From Paris-CDG, SAS offers nine weekly flights to Copenhagen (one daily flight and an additional flight on Fridays and Sundays). The French capital also benefits from a daily flights to Oslo and Stockholm.
The carrier also offers several weekly frequencies from the three Scandinavian capitals to Nice and several daily flights to Brussels. It also links Geneva to Copenhagen.
The United States in the spotlight
On the long-courrier, the programme Asia remains minimal. Bangkok, Delhi, Hong Kong, Beijing and Singapore are still not on the carrier's winter schedule. The airline only operates flights between Copenhagen and Shanghai and Tokyo..
On the other hand, the upturn is real for the network to the United States. Copenhagen has services to six US cities. From September, the airline will be launching three weekly Airbus A321LR flights to Boston.. This will be the first time the carrier has offered a transatlantic flight with this aircraft. The carrier is also increasing its frequencies in September to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington. Also in September, the company relaunched its Stockholm-New York (Newark).
Visit October, SAS resumes flights to Miami from the three Scandinavian capitals. Copenhagen and Stockholm enjoy three weekly frequencies and Oslo one flight a week. Lastly, the carrier, which already serves Copenhagen-Chicago on a daily basis, is announcing the resumption of the Stockholm-Chicago route in the autumn.
