The SIA's impressive profits1.6 billion US dollars by 2022 with record sales of 13.15 billion dollars, are encouraging the company to be more generous with its passengers. With effect from 1er Next July, Singapore Airlines (SIA) will be offering passengers in all classes of travel free, unlimited wi-fi access.. According to the Asian carrier's press release, this will be the most comprehensive offer in the air transport sector.

Until then, only passengers travelling in Suites, First Class, Business Class and PPS members of the KrisFlyer loyalty programme will benefit from this free, unlimited service. Passengers travelling in Premium Economy and Economy class can use a free package limited to 3 hours and 2 hours respectively.

There is, however, one small condition. Free wifi is only available to members of the loyalty programme KrisFlyer. All you have to do is register, free of charge, if you are not already a member.

What's more, the airline has decided to revise its on-board menus in economy class. For some time now, the carrier has been the target of criticism on social networks, with many people reporting a deterioration in service. SIA has decided to remedy this perception.

With Covid, SIA had simplified its services. However, the end of the health restrictions did not mean a complete return to the status quo.The pre-Covid. Internet users have in particular complained about the introduction of paper containers on board, deeming the presentation similar to that of low-cost airlines. This 1st Junethe company is reinstating certain elements of its in-flight catering, such as Economy class meal tickets.

Back to the pre-Covid offer

On the Asian 24-hour news channel CNA, an SIA spokesman confirmed that the starters will be served with all economy class meals on medium-haul, long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights. This means all flights lasting three and a half hours or more. These starters are followed by a bread roll, a main course, cheese with biscuits and a dessert.. Biscuits and cheese, which disappeared with covid, are back.

Other items that had been withdrawn for supply chain operational reasons, as well as to reduce food waste, will be reinstated. Such as muffins for continental breakfasts. SOn short-haul flights (up to three-and-a-half hours), the airline will serve bread rolls and butter, in addition to a main course and dessert..

The spokesman told CNA, SIA's catering budget is approximately 20 % higher than in the 2019/2020 financial year. In fact, SIA, with its excellent brand image, is more exposed to criticism than other companies. Management has taken this on board.
