SNCF Voyageurs' Train + Air offer is expanding into new areas. On the one hand, Air France has opened it up since 21st September last to all Ouigo high-speed trains serving Paris-CDG TGV station. On the other hand, KM Malta Airlines has also just announced its entry into this scheme, which combines a rail journey and a flight under a single booking and a single ticket.
This extension of this product to SNCF's low-cost offering departing from Paris CDG is a logical continuation of the partnership between the railway company and Air France, launched over 30 years ago, to offer low-carbon journeys to airports. This has already been the case since autumn 2025 for Ouigo services to/from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport. At the beginning of the year, SNCF and Air France began adding routes to Paris CDG, to and from Aix-en-Provence TGV, Avignon TGV and Marseille-Saint-Charles stations in a first phase, ahead of an expected extension in September.
Which is now in effect. All OUIGO trains serving Paris-CDG airport – from 27 stations in France – are integrated into the Train + Air offer. Within this framework, travellers will benefit from the same guarantees as for TGV Inoui, starting with insurance in the event of a delay or cancellation guaranteeing a seat on the next available train or flight, at no extra cost. In addition to a digitalised journey with online check-in opening 30 hours before departure, or 24 hours for the United States.
Air France reports a 43 per cent increase in rail and air passenger traffic in the first quarter
This extension is a response to growing demand. Indeed, Air France's Train + Air traffic increased by 43 % in six months, compared to the same period in 2025. KM Malta Airlines connects to the TGV network
Alongside this development with Air France, SNCF is expanding its network of airlines integrated into the Train + Air offer. After Malaysia Airlines last July, KM Malta Airlines is in turn connecting its flights to Malta with TGV Inoui and Ouigo in order to capture customers from the French regions. Via Paris-CDG, the offer covers 25 destinations in France and Brussels, including Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Rennes, Strasbourg, Lille and Montpellier. Via Lyon-Saint-Exupéry, it serves Avignon, Grenoble, Marseille, Montpellier and Nîmes, among others. « This partnership broadens the service area of our connectivity offering from France and gives customers more choice and flexibility for their travel to Malta », emphasises David Curmi, Executive Chairman of KM Malta Airlines. The carrier operates a fleet of Airbus A320neo aircraft.
