Just announced its brand takeover Wojo with the group Accor, IWG publishes its new Work from Anywhere report. Advocating remote working across the group's approximately 5,000 sites, spread over more than 120 countries, the world leader regularly ranks the most favourable destinations for the concept of 'tracances', or 'workation', to use the terms employed by IWG. This year, it is Bangkok who takes first place in the Work from Anywhere ranking, which is based on various criteria measuring the right balance between quality of life and productivity. The Thai capital succeeds Barcelona, Budapest and Tokyo, crowned in the first three editions of the IWG study. The three previous winners remain in the top 6, but the gap in terms of scoring is significant: Bangkok peaks at 106.5 points, well ahead of Tokyo (96.5) – a 10-point gap that reflects true dominance.
Work from Anywhere: The Top 10 2026
Absent from the top spots, the France neveretheless positions three destinations in the Top 50. Montpellier thus climbing to 16the position in the ranking, ahead of major hubs like Singapore, Sydney, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam or Berlin. Accustomed to top spots in prestigious rankings like ICCA, Paris will have to settle for 33rd place, closely followed by Biarritz (40e).
According to data provided by IWG, half of working people (48 %) plan to extend their holidays in working from home in 2026. Furthermore, 46 % of those surveyed say they are more likely to do so than last year.
