A castle near Berlin and a listed residence not far from Mainz, as well as a conference hotel near Munich: Châteauform' is stepping up the roll-out of its offering in Germany with three upcoming establishments in the next two years. This development is based on a tried and tested recipe in France: the transformation of sites with a rich past into seminar centres with an abundance of green space. All within easy reach of the country's major economic centres.
Since 2011 and the opening of the first house on the other side of the Rhine, Schloss Ahrenthal, a former medieval castle close to Cologne and Bonn, Châteauform''s German offering has gradually expanded and now includes six houses. These include four in the west of Germany, near Cologne and Düsseldorf, and two others near Frankfurt, notably Schloss Löwenstein, a baroque residence inspired by Versailles and surrounded by vineyards, to make it even more 'French'.
Next February, the spirit of Châteauform' will take over other historic buildings, those of the Drehna medieval castleThe Schloss Drehna is the perfect location for a seminar, bringing the seminar specialist closer to its clientele in the German capital. Located just an hour from Berlin Brandenburg airport, and a good hour from Dresden and Berlin mainline stations, Schloss Drehna is set in the heart of the Spree forest. Surrounded by a park considered to be one of the most beautiful landscaped gardens in the region, the venue combines history and nature to offer a green setting for team building and meetings, with eight seminar rooms and a total of 55 rooms.
While Châteauform' is offering something new to the east of Germany this year, the west of the country will see the French group set up in 2026 near Mainz, in a villa built at the beginning of the 20th century.e century for Baron Martin Wilhelm von Waldthausen. A residence with the air of a castle whose splendour at the time reflected the owner's desire to impress Wilhelm II. Later, at the end of the Second World War, General Koenig planned to take up residence here as Commander-in-Chief of the French occupation zone in Germany, having it arranged with the honours due to his rank before being recalled to Paris.
Surrounded by a vast park and terraced gardens, nestled in the Lenneberg forestIts owner, the Rhineland-Palatinate Savings Banks Association, has entrusted its management to Châteauform' rather than converting it to other uses, such as an international school with boarding facilities.
Another project, another flagship business destination, Châteauform' is also due to open shortly, just 25 minutes from the centre of Munich, on the shores of Lake Starnberg. According to the local newspaper Starnberger MerkurThis new development, slightly less advanced than the others, is the result of the takeover of an existing establishment, the Residence hotel in Feldafing, built in the early 1990s and closed a year ago. Its owner, the insurance company Die Bayerische, has found a new direction for it, no longer focusing on leisure customers but on corporate events, through a long-term lease with the French group. Set in two hectares of parkland between lake and forest - and 30 minutes from the first ski slopes - the hotel comprises six pavilions with a total of around one hundred rooms and 16 meeting rooms.
