This was a demand from businessmen who wanted to benefit from cheaper rail fares that were nonetheless more flexible than the traditional "Sparpreis" reduced fares. A claim recognised by the Deutsche Bahn (DB)which is launching a new offer on 1 January, the Sparpreis Business.
Of course, travellers using Sparpreis Business will have to only use the train mentioned at the time of purchase. But with this offer, business customers will be able to take advantage of more attractive tariffs, alongside the current "Flexpreis Business" tariff. Sparpreis Business will be available from €27.99.
It has many advantages. One in particular that is particularly important for business travellers: if the journey is postponed and the ticket has to be cancelled, the refund will be made directly to the payment method used at the time of purchase.. Unlike the Sparpreis for individual travellers, who only receive vouchers.
DB's Business Sparpreis fare also includes the following benefits:
- low prices from €27.99.
– 25% discount for BahnCard Business subscribers.
– Can be combined with a City-Ticket for the use of public transport.
- Cancellation before the 1st day of validity subject to a €10 charge, refunded to the original means of payment.
- The offer is guaranteed until 31 December 2025 and may be extended.
