4 April, Eurostar began its routes at 300 km/h between London St Pancras and Rotterdam - joined in 3h01 -and then Amsterdam which will be reached in 3 hours 41 minutes. Offered with two trains a day to begin with, at 8.31am and 5.31pm from the British capital, this new high-speed rail service is available from 40€ one way in Standard class, 90,50€ in Business Standard and 299€ in Business Premier.
Correspondence to Brussels for a security check
While the service is direct in the London/Netherlands direction, passengers in the other direction will have to travel first in TGV Thalys to Brussels Midi to carry out the controls passport and safety before boarding a Eurostar train to the British capital. This connection will enable Eurostar to offer seven services a day from Amsterdam to the UK. However, it hopes to operate a direct service without connections by the end of 2019.
Eurostar wants to capture the air traffic between these two countries
The opening of this route between London and the Netherlands marks an important step in Eurostar's development. The railway company intends to capture a substantial market share of air traffic between London and Amsterdamwhich, year on year, stands at four million passengers. These new routes will also enable the airline to boost its business traffic, which has already reached increased by 8 % in 2017 in Business Standard and Business Premier classes on its historic routes between London, Paris and Brussels.
