One hour
There's no need to look far: the direction to take is the DuomoOne of the largest cathedrals in the world, and certainly one of the most attractive since the facade was given a facelift. The cathedral's underground treasury is also well worth a visit.
On the way out, pass by the city's other main tourist attraction: the Victor-Emmanuel II Gallery and its dome perched 47 metres above the ground, beneath which are a succession of stylish restaurants (including the famous Savini).
One afternoon
Complete your discovery of the city by going to the Pinacoteca di Brera or in one of the Castello Sforzesco (including an excellent museum of musical instruments). Another of the town's great attractions is the monastery Santa Maria delle Grazie home to Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper. Booking is highly recommended, if not compulsory, for this last option.
